A Menina que Queria Saber Voar
about.
The Girl Who Wanted to Fly is a children's story that narrates the journey of Maria, a girl full of doubts about what it means to be a girl. It is rich content that inspires not only girls to dream, but also boys to understand that dreams do not depend on gender, origin, or race to come true.
I was invited to illustrate and design the book. To do so, I started with the cliché of “children's drawings” and developed a fluid, textured and sensitive style capable of conveying the feeling of the narrative.

Maria was designed based on the author, as you can see in the image below. All pages were created together, ensuring content consistency.
As the target audience is children, the colours of the text and visual elements are designed to attract attention without being overly aggressive.

The publication is still in progress, but here you can see some of Letícia Fuggi's incredible work, as well as my contribution in illustration, art direction and layout.
